This year, the biggest day in the Chinese calendar, the Lunar New Year, falls on 14 Feb which is also Valentine's Day.
One of the highlights of the Lunar New Year is the reunion dinner, which takes place on the eve of the big day. There is a strong emphasis on family togetherness in the Chinese culture and customs. As much as possible, those involved in the celebration would try and reunite with their family members for a big dinner on Lunar New Year's eve no matter how far they are. In fact, an estimated 150 million migrant workers (thats the population of Russia!) make their way back home in one of biggest migratory experience the world has seen. Airports are reporting queues up to 100 metres !
You can imagine how important Lunar New Year is in the Chinese culture.
That being said,I wish all our readers 新年快乐,心想事成 and Happy Valentine's Day !
Watch out for the fireworks !
