I happened to look through some World Expo materials prepared for potential exhibitors. Inside one of the files are the costing sheets meant to help these exhibitors in the budgeting.
The documents are not confidential thus I can share these figures with you:
Cost of constructing the pavilion:
From 7.4 million yuan to 21.68 million yuan depending on size of pavilion
Cost of operating the pavilion:
From 2.94 million yuan to 40.97 million yuan depending on size of pavilion
Cost of decorations, furnishing and equipment:
From 2.69 million yuan to 59.43 million yuan depending on size of pavilion
There you go. This is how much each participating country forks out to showcase to you the best from their homeland.

I thought it would be a good idea to share what camera gear I use. I use a Canon EOS500D with EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM zoom lens and EF 50mm f/1.8II.

Those numbers might be entry fee statistics but the actual costs will be much higher. I saw Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, still asking for corporate contributions in addition to the existing $60 million in sponsorship for the American pavillion. What can I say? America always pulls it together in a half-assed corporate-funded way at the buzzer. I can see it now- with all the subtlety of Pepsi "green" cola, Levi's branded cowboys sitting atop Duracell-powered muscle cars.
