High Fashion - With Chinese Characteristics
The title of this entry could also be "Only in China".
I was walking out of Times Square on Huahai road this afternoon when I saw this Chinese guy finalising a sale at Ermenegildo Zegna (high end mens wear - we are talking US$300 ties) in the Lane Crawford department store. I'm not sure what he bought as it was already in the bag, but the bag was bigger than a tie bag.
He virtually ran out the door right in front of me after pocketing his change. He then made his way over to where 2 security guards were standing around a bicycle leaning on one of the pillars at the front. I watched as he talked (in an agitated, animated style) with the guards, unlocked the bike, got on and rode off with his Zegna bag dangling from one of the handle bars.
Where else in the world would someone fork out hundreds of dollars for an Italian designer article of clothing, then argue with security guards about illegally parking their bicycle, then get on said bike and ride home?
Only in China.

I thought it would be a good idea to share what camera gear I use. I shoot (sometimes) with a Canon EOS350D with standard EF-S 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6 II lens.

i am afraid that there is a place in the world called Singapore where people will pay US$50000 for a 1.6L Japanese car, got caught and argue with untie fatimah for not displaying a 50 cents coupon for parking, then get on said car and drive home with $30 fine...
