Anyone that knows me well knows my passion for coffee. In the past I have worked in coffee development and have opened a small chain of coffee shops in Sydney with its own blend of coffee (that I helped create).
The boys at CR Kennedy know that I am willing to travel to get good coffee. I used walk past about 4 coffee shops in Pyrmont (Sydney) to get to Talentino to get my coffee because they made, without a doubt the best coffee in Pyrmont - and quite possibly Sydney - go check it out for yourself (ask for Oscar to make it for you!).
So, people have been asking me how I am surviving and where is the best coffee in Shanghai. I am afraid that I have to report that the best coffee in Shanghai (that I have discovered) is right here in my apartment! I brought my stove top espresso maker and my own coffee - and its the best cup in town!
If I do find a good place, I will be sure to share the information.

I thought it would be a good idea to share what camera gear I use. I use a Canon EOS500D with EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM zoom lens and EF 50mm f/1.8II.

I am living in Shanghai. I will travel to the UK, US and Ireland in June. How can I obtain an international drivers license?

Hi Brad, do you still bring your own coffee from Sydney to have a good cup in Shanghai? :-) In case you run out, you should give YOMO Coffee a try - they do delivery and in my opinion have the best fresh premium coffee in town! Here's the link: http://www.yomocoffee.com

If you're in the neighbourhood, check out Coffee Guru at 1147 kang ding road, building D. Just opened, and serves good Aussie coffee.

Also, if you're near, try Izzo Caffe. They're at Pudong Ave 986, serve some pretty good Italian coffee, and make decent pizzas too. It's a little hidden, though; they're behind some wine store at the bottom of an apartment building.

Hi, I'd like to recommend a coffee as well www.v-coffee.com - their price is quite good and they roast in China as well. But the flying turtle coffee... when I click on the link I get a game :-S
In any case, I really like the quality Yunnan stuff!

Flying Turtle Coffee has a game, you tell them where you drink coffee and they send you a free bag of Yunnan coffee. Click on the "buy" link for purchases on taobao and click on "blog" to read more about coffee and Yunnan. http://flyingturtlecoffee.com/

V-coffee.com is excellent. Service and quality. I've tried Flying Turtle as well, friend of mine got a free bag, the quality is mediocre, the roast is a bit stale, and we've found incomplete beans in the bag which definitely is not the sign of a quality roast. If I had to buy it, I would find it overpriced for what you get, but they do have a free game, so try it for free while you still can

Can't believe the Chinese can make such a beautiful cup of Cappucino. It just made me to order my second cup. The price is so reasonably cheap and the place cosy. Accept for the service, kind of a Chinese, but I would come back for another cup, it makes my day! At 986 Pudong Avenue

I love Jamaica Blue's coffee! Western prices, though. My favorite branch is the one near my home, the one on Wulumuqi near Changle Lu.

I would like to suggest you try a cup of Hani Coffee. It is the best coffee I have tasted in China so far. You can check out the website at www.hanicoffee.com or you can email me at timheinze@hotmail.com to get a bag.

I recently tried a new place called Corner Cafe, on Ruijin Road, corner of Xiangshan Road. Small place but good coffee and reasonably priced. The boss is from the UK and his wife is a Chinese born American so language is not a problem.

Hey everyone,
I recently arrived in Shanghai and i'm opening up a chain of specialty stores for coffee and tea.
The coffee gets roasted in our own facilities in Belgium and is imported to China. We sell over 80 different kind of coffee beans (pure origins, bleds, flavoured, solutions)and maybe a 120 different teas (green, black, herbal, specialties.
Since may i have opened up two shops in Shanghai. One is in the Hong Kong Plaza on Huaihai middle road (3rd floor) and one in the Expo cultural centre (-1 level). Two more are set to open before the end of the year on Nanjing road and People's square.
If you love your coffee like i do, and can't find it in Shanghai, you'll be crazy about our stores. The name is CoffeeRoots. There's no website yet, but contact me if you need any more info (frederic.willems@gmail.com).
Cheers

HI Help! My husband is in Shanghai at the moment and visited Seng Qing Coffee shop where he was overcharged on his credit card. He needs to go back there to challenge the amount and have it reversed but cant remember the address of the coffee shop! If anyone can give us an address we would really really appreciate it.
Thanks

Izzo Caffee at Pudong Ave 986 has remarkable coffee and serves a mean pizza too. Like someone above mentioned, it's a little hidden and harder to see from the street, but very much worthwhile. Really snug atmosphere too.
